Roma, 10-13 Ottobre 2017, Centro Congressi CNR – SISEF organizza il prossimo Congresso Nazionale come occasione di incontro e confronto tra ricercatori, istituzioni e società civile sulle tematiche di più stretta attualità. Il Congresso assume particolare importanza in quanto il 2017 è un anno di grandi cambiamenti nel settore forestale del nostro Paese e in via straordinaria si terrà a Roma dal 10 al 13 Ottobre 2016, presso il Centro Congressi del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.
World Urban Parks Habitat III event a success
The World Urban Parks Large Urban Parks Committee (and Network) held a successful side event at the UN Habitat III Conference in Quito on 17 October 2016, titled Large Green Spaces and Urban Forests, Key Public Infrastructure for Equitable, Healthy and Sustainable Cities. This event was presented in collaboration with the Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology (SISEF). Large Urban Parks Committee Co-Chair Dr Richard Murray congratulated Patricia O’Donnell for leading the event, and the panellists for their contributions, noting the side event was the best-attended side event of that day of the programme.
12 PhD positions on Remote Sensing for Ecosystem modelling
Twelve PhD positions are offered in the frame of the project TRuStEE – Training on Remote Sensing for Ecosystem modelling, a Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network Action. This project aims to capacitate the next generation of scientists to understand and deal with the increasing pressure of environmental change on ecosystem functioning and land-atmosphere interactions. Workshop “Gestione integrata e multifunzionale dei cedui di castagno”
18 novembre 2016, CREA Foreste – Sala Aldo Pavari – Viale Santa Margherita 80 – Arezzo. Il seminario, organizzato dal CREA nell’ambito delle attività finanziate dalla Rete Rurale Nazionale, ha lo scopo di presentare gli avanzamenti della ricerca in campo selvicolturale e tecnologico, le necessità delle imprese, le difficoltà e le opportunità operative nelle realtà territoriali castanicole, gli strumenti normativi a disposizione dei proprietari e dei gestori e l’importanza della rete rurale per lo sviluppo della filiera castanicola, attraverso un confronto tra i vari portatori di interesse. Un confronto che delinei risposte adeguate ad un problema che presenta criticità crescenti e la cui soluzione passa da una gestione integrata e multifunzionale dei cedui di castagno.
