EFI is looking for a Senior Agroforestry Expert

EFI is seeking a Senior Expert to work for the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA, see
https://circularbioeconomyalliance.org/), contributing to the design, supervision and research work of
agroforestry projects established in tropical and sub-tropical countries within the CBA Living Labs network (https://circularbioeconomyalliance.org/living-labs/).

Key responsibilities will include:  

• Leading role in project design, research, and supervision of land restoration and agroforestry projects;

• Research project proposal development and reporting, including communication with donors and  partners;

• Project coordination, administration, and budgeting. 

Qualifications:  

• A PhD in forestry, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture with at least 6 years of experience in  agroforestry projects in tropical or/and sub-tropical countries;

• Demonstrated experience in coordinating and implementing agroforestry projects in the tropics;

• Good knowledge on nature-based carbon removals markets and carbon credits certification;

• Good understanding of ecosystems, value chains and socio-cultural dimension, as well as of  sustainability, ESGs or CSR or related sustainability assessment frameworks;

• Proficiency in writing project proposal and reporting;

• Experience in project management, administration, and budgeting;

• Experience in working in tropical and/or sub-tropical countries;

• Excellent English skills, and knowledge of French and Spanish languages is an advantage. 

Duty station 

Will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. 

Employment conditions 

EFI offers competitive benefits and salary package. The duration of employment will be until end of 2024, with  the possibility for an extension depending on project opportunities and the successful candidate’s  performance.  

The successful candidate will ideally take up the position during spring 2023.
