Post-doctoral position: research assistant in quantitative analysis of forest growth in relation with climate change
▪ Context: sustainability of forest growth in European coniferous forests (France, Austria) in a context of climate warming. Novelty of growth information at an annual resolution in the associated national forest inventories.
▪ Purposes: Analysis of annual growth in French and Austrian coniferous forests formed by Norway spruce, silver fir, Scots pine and European larch, complemented by Douglas fir and maritime pine in France. Statistical modelling of growth chronologies at an annual resolution over regional domains. Modelling of climate-growth relationships from European climatic data E-OBS.
▪ Duties/Responsabilities: The post-doctoral fellowship will conduct researches on these two objectives and will ensure its dissemination, first at IGN/INRA on French data (9 months, under the supervision of JD Bontemps), then at BFW on Austrian data (6 months, under the supervision of T Gschwantner) before performing a synthesis of the analyses back at IGN/INRA. Two cross-team meetings will allow make a point during and at the end of the project.
