Associate senior lecturer in characterization of forest biomaterial

at SWEDISH UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES – SLU

The department of Forest Biomaterials and Technology (SBT) has a financial turnover of approximately 40 million SEK annually and has about 40 employees of whom 24 % are women. Our employees come from about 10 different countries, which means that we often use English as a working language. We are a part of the Faculty of Forest Sciences, based in Umeå. The department carries out high quality research, undergraduate and postgraduate education on an international level and collaborates with society and industry to develop a bio-based economy with forest biomaterials as an important resource. The focus is on value chains in the bio-based industry, where different forest biomaterials are collected, characterized, separated, modified / processed, used and re-used cost-effectively for different purposes while forest ecosystem services are managed sustainably.
