OCE Postdoctoral Fellow – Australian Continental Fire Emissions Modeling
Segnalato da Josep Canadell
An opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on diagnostic modeling of the Australian continental fire emissions. The successful applicant will work with a small team using biospheric models and large datasets to understand material and energy exchanges of the Australian terrestrial biosphere.
Specifically you will:
Contribute to the development of a research capacity in Australia to establish the continental net carbon balance with the vision to extend it to include other greenhouse gases and an understanding of the processes controlling the natural and anthropogenic fluxes of terrestrial ecosystems
Contribute to a global assessment of the Global Carbon Project called Regional Carbon Cycle Assessment and Processes (RECCAP), with opportunities to interact with other international regional groups overseas
Location: Black Mountain, Canberra, Australia
Salary: $75K- $82K plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Ref no: ACT 12/00952
Tenure: 3 Year term
To be successful you will have:
PhD or equivalent degree in relevant disciplines to the goals of the project (earth system science, biology/ecology, environmental sciences, remote sensing, mathematics, physics)
Demonstrated capability to conduct innovative research in modeling development relevant to the goals of the project, particularly in biospheric modeling and handling large datasets including remote sensing data products.
