Engineer (m/f) for bio data management
Work description :
- Conceptual design and implementation of an integration project of distributed heterogeneous databases in the European region
- Development of tools for supporting biological research
- Management of a high performance computing cluster under Linux and the existing laboratory information system installations
- Evaluation and interpretation of extensive data sets from biological research
Requirements:
- Completed specialist training (university/information technology, university of applied sciences in bio information technology, information technology)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in database and software projects
- Personal interest in biology, botany or genetics
- Very good knowledge in the field of database systems (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and object oriented software development in the client/server and intranet environment (Java, JSF, PHP, HTML/XML)
- Scripting languages (Perl, PHP, Shell-Script)
- Very good knowledge in dealing with Linux and Microsoft Windows
- Structured and precise way of working, commitment, good communication skills
- Independent, analytical and cooperative working style
- Enthusiasm for unconventional solutions, creativity and progressive thinking
Salary:
The definite classification or remuneration occurs corresponding to qualifications and previous experiences. The annual gross salary is at least EUR 39.592,00 per year according to the Research CA.
